Empowering Future Researchers to find a cure for Parkinson’s Disease
In the past, the focus of medical researchers has been treatments that target relieving the symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease. With the important discovery of CRISPR/CAS9 gene editing system, we believe a disease-modifying therapy, a.k.a. a holistic cure, can be found for Parkinson’s Disease.
Future researchers (current STEM students) can benefit from assistance in educating themselves in stem cell science and regenerative medicine. Current Parkinson’s Disease patients can benefit from participating in programs that help relieve the physical challenges (stiff joints) that accompany Parkinson’s Disease. Caregivers of Parkinson’s Disease patients can benefit from the assistance of volunteers sourced from the Parkinson’s Disease Project’s volunteer pool.
Our vision is to help with this three-pronged strategy, and play our part in addressing the needs of patients suffering from Parkinson’s Disease worldwide.
